Veritas Vineyard & Winery

Veritas Vineyard & Winery is one of the larger wineries in the Charlottesville area. It’s almost always busy and has a nice selection of wines. If you’re looking for a venue for a wedding, party, or corporate function Veritas deserves a look. If you’re looking for a great wine tasting experience with spectacular wines – well maybe you should try one of the other wineries in the area.

What Veritas seems to do well other than host large gatherings, is to make wines for some of the other wineries in the area. One in particular, Fox Run, uses its winemaking facilities and its winemaker’s expertise to product some truly enjoyable vintages. So it’s strange that Veritas’ own products fall short. There are always lots of possible reasons for this but in the end it comes down to the bottle itself and what you think of it.

We took their barrel room tour that included a tasting of a few wines and a walk through their production facility. The tour guide was not really a wine professional though she was nice enough and was able to show us the whole area. So, if you’re in the Charlottesville, VA area, plan on stopping by for a regular tasting. Veritas is welcoming and close by several other wineries.
