Looking for the latest bourbon releases in 2018?
Here’s something cool – BreakingBourbon.com publishes a list of bourbon releases every year and based on their 2018 calendar this year should be pretty spectacular. Here’s a link to their calendar for this year even though it’s already half way over.
What am I excited about for the rest of 2018?
- Booker’s Bourbon ‘Kathleen’s Batch’ at 127.4 proof and 6 years old
- Maker’s Mark Seared at 110.7 proof
- Russell’s Reserve 2002 at 114.6 proof
- Michter’s 10 Year Single Barrel (OMG!)
- Buffalo Trace Antique Collection
- Angel’s Envy Bourbon Cask Strength
You’ll notice that most of these specify a high ABV and that’s no mistake. I appreciate having access to the full flavor of the distiller’s intention without dilution. I generally add an ice cube to my dram but I even sometimes bypass that in favor of a great flavor experience.
Good luck to all these and the other brands releasing this year. I can only hope to be able to find a few of these in my favorite store though I fully expect I’ll need to make a pilgrimage to KY to get most of them.
