Castle & Key Sunken Gardens in Bloom

The sunken gardens are looking as beautiful as ever, with greenery around every corner. It’s the perfect place to take a minute to enjoy the distillery in the midst of the hustle and bustle of our renovation. Next up, we’re eager for our hydrangeas to bloom and for you to see it all when doors open in late-summer.

This month, award-winning Garden Designer Jon Carloftis came out to the distillery to add in plant ID tags in the botanical trail. When doors open later this summer, you can walk the trail which winds around our key-shaped pool. We also had volunteers from the Kentucky Natural Land Trust stop by and identify plans on-site. We’re happy to report they found wild ginger and juniper, perfect for gin.
